I have Gizmo5 call out minutes that work fine. The problem is when someone calls my Google Voice number, and the incoming call is not free while I am connected to Gizmo VoIP on my phone. The prepaid minutes from my provider get used instead. What’s wrong? This worked for me in the past. I use a S60 Nokia phone. The settings of my SIP profile on my phone are shown as registered.

Thanks for your clarification. Now, at least I can say it is the ports forwarding on the NAT/Firewall router to the PBX system can let crackers hack into the PBX system. I have run an Asterisk PBX system since the end of 2007 and never saw anything like that on the log file of my Asterisk PBX system. I don't use ports forwarding scheme and my Asterisk PBX system has those two lines (as seen on my above post) inserted in the [general] section of the sip.conf file. Also, even if my Asterisk PBX system gets hacked, it only contains free accounts (no paid subscriptions) and will probably be useless to the crackers.

So, did you have some ports forwarding set on your NAT/Firewall router to your trixbox before that let crackers in and do the damages?

You can't be sure about this. The reason is cracking into an unsecured PBX system has been a trend in VoIP world lately and is a big business. Once the PBX system is compromised, it is used to call destinations around the world.

i did disable all the forwarded ports .
and ill add the lines to sip.conf

it seems that i got hacked from a dorm because calls has been made to different countries
like Somalia seralion , Monaco ,Bulgaria and some other countries .

First, let me guess that you have performed ports forwarding on your NAT/Firewall router to your trixbox. If so, then you will need to disable that. Then, go to your sip.conf file to add the following under the [general] section:

NOTE: Once you perform the above, do a sip reload or perhaps reboot your trixbox.

today i got an email from gizmo5 saying that my balance is low , so i checked the history in gizmo5.com ,
i was surprised to see that someone hacked into my trixbox and made the calls.

i try to locate his ip address from my firewall but did not work.
what can i do .

Hi Folks!

I see following rates for calls forwarding Russia/St. Petersburg(Russia). I would like to have forwarding to St. Petersburg mobile phone so rate should be 0.030. My colleague noticed me that actual rate for St. Petersburg mobile phones is 0.080 (as it is for all Russian mobile phones) but it isn't 0.030.

Mobile carrier is MTS, mobile phone number is +7(911)XXX-XXXX.

Does anybody know this issue is fixed or not?

My call in number was working this year. It quit working however in the last week or so. It appears to be on the PSTN side of things. When calling the number from various carriers I get an unassigned / invalid number message. As near as I can determine my call in number belongs to Level 3 so I suspect the problem may be there. Opened a ticket with Gizmo5 the first of the week but no response yet. Call out working fine get correct number id. My G5 account shows my call in number still valid.

I would like to hear from some people saying that call in is in fact working for them. I have heard a lot of complaints about problems since December. But I have not heard anyone in 2010 say that call-in was working for them. Anybody? Anywhere? Pleasure just confirm.

Does anyone know if Gizmo5 Support is still open for business? Opened a support ticket a couple of days ago but still no response. My paid Gizmo call in number now says unassigned / unavailable when call from PSTN side of the network. It has worked in the past.

Doesn't work for me either (MSN or Yahoo), but I don't see the same error message.

The @Gizmo5 bot prompts for the ID, then prompts for the password. Then does nothing at all for 5 to 9 minutes after I enter the password. After that wait, it reports:

@Gizmo5: Yahoo service is temporarily unavailable

"Temporary" in this case apparently means at least several months.
